Prior military experience or defense industry experience a plus.

Major in Business Administration, Human Resources, or any Engineering discipline is preferred

Any other technical aptitude will be a plus, in order to better understand requirements of engineering positions assigned.

Computer skills required (must be able to enter and manipulate data in Excel and in an applicant tracking system).

Excellent verbal and written English skills are required.

Prior cold-calling experience required - must be very comfortable calling people at work for most of your day.

Prior experience recruiting Embedded Systems Engineers, Digital/Analog Designers, Embedded Software Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers and/or Aerospace Engineers is preferred.

Prior technical recruitment experience required, preferably in defense or aerospace.

This is chance to work on some very interesting roles for a premier, well respected defense company. Our longest-serving recruiters have been engaged on the same RPO with the same client for over 5 years. This opportunity has the potential to last several months or longer.

Hours can be flexible to some extent but core hours are 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM MST in order to make initial contact with candidates, and some evening and weekend hours will be necessary in order to speak with candidates who are not available to talk during their work day. You must have your own computer, Microsoft Office, phone, high-speed internet, and a quiet home office. We provide the data and technical infrastructure, and you provide an excellent phone demeanor, email writing skills and the ability to identify and focus on 'A' candidates.

Success in this role depends on your ability to spend a full work day engaging candidates by conducting cold outreach via phone, email and LinkedIn. You will be supported by a research team who will populate our ATS with 'cold' candidates for you to contact. Searches will focus on defense or aerospace engineering skill sets (embedded software engineering, digital/analog design, radar signal processing, mechanical systems design, etc.), from mid to senior technical leadership levels. The defense industry is still thriving, despite the pandemic, and we are helping our client fill thousands of engineering openings. This is a work-from-home, independent contractor (1099) role paid by the hour, working full-time for one of our large clients, a Fortune 100 defense contractor, on a Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) basis. Interact with client hiring managers and recruiters to calibrate candidate quality.Follow-up with candidates via phone and email in order to confirm interest and obtain required information for our clients.Track progress in an applicant tracking system (ATS).Conduct brief phone screens to pre-qualify candidates.
